I was recently reminded of a great post I came across awhile back that includes 4 “fake” websites appropriate for students. They can be used as a great lesson to get students evaluating information they come across online. Getting students to ask questions about sources before they believe what they see or before they hit “share” is a skill that is increasing in demand. In all curriculum areas students need to be able to research from reliable sources and have a discerning eye when it comes to false information that is out there. The 4 websites are found at http://www.controlaltachieve.com/2016/02/fake-sites-teach-website-evaluation.html#more. Another educational resource we are sharing was put together by the New York Times and is called “Ideas for Teaching and Learning About Fake News“.
